Four-time world champion Michael Schumacher’s agent has told Formula 1 fans not to compare new team-mate Max Verstappen to his late client.
Verstappen, 19, was promoted to Red Bull in an off-season shake-up.
There has been speculation that the Dutchman will have his driving style compared to that of Schumacher’s, who Schumacher lost control of in 2001 before his life was cut short in 2009.
“We have heard such comments before but don’t believe them,” agent Sabine Kehm said.
Verstappen has finished third, second and second in three of the five races since joining Red Bull.
Kehm also reminded people that at the World Rally Championship level, Schumacher was the reigning champion who spent his entire career with the same team, while Verstappen has yet to win a race in his eight-year F1 career.
